The comparison
What changes is who does the work: in the spreadsheet you do it by hand; in Cuadra it comes from each sale.
| Excel spreadsheet | Cuadra | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free or included in another licence | From US$29.99 per location per month, first month free |
| Sales | You enter the day's totals | They come from each bill |
| Cost of each dish | You update it by hand when a price changes | Recalculated with every purchase |
| Stock | You take it out by hand | Every sale takes its ingredients out |
| Accounting | Separate, at month end | Journal entries, profit and balance sheet up to date |
| Team | One file for everyone | Users with roles and permissions |
| Flexibility | Total: build whatever you want | What Cuadra offers |
When a spreadsheet is enough
If you have few dishes, the owner takes payments and does the buying, and you only want to know how much you sold in the month, a well-made spreadsheet is enough and costs nothing.
When software pays off
When several people take orders and payments, when you want to check stock against sales, or when you want to know whether you made money this week without waiting for the accountant. Then the time spent entering everything twice, and the mistakes, cost more than the software.
How to switch
In Cuadra the menu is loaded from a photo or a PDF, you set up recipes for your best sellers and enter the opening stock. What you had in the spreadsheet is a good starting point.
